As part of Hack The Barbican 2013 I ran a project with paper conservator Fiona McLees called book/jacket.
At the #HTB2013 launch party on Friday evening and during the day on Saturday, we took photographs of the outdoor & foyer spaces and eavesdropped on conversations. People kindly tweeted us lines they overheard, and we also harvested the #HTB2013 Twitter feed.
We randomly combined lines of the conversations with the photos and printed pocket-sized 4-page books. The books were stitched together using a Japanese stab binding technique.
Passing strangers were invited to look through the books and take the one that struck their fancy.
We were also interviewed by Laura Davidson for her alternative HTB2013 catalogue/blog, GetDialogue.
