Past Contempt (flash fiction)

‘Am I?’ ‘Only ten minutes.’ I said.  Then she apologised, and I said I forgave her, and we both pretended it didn’t matter any more and set off. Halfway round the headline, I stopped to get a stone out my shoe and she kept walking.  ‘Did I?’ she said and I said that she had … Continue reading Past Contempt (flash fiction)

Photo Diary: Trip Three, March 2013

Revisiting some two.5 highlights in the run-up to the launch of our crowdfunding campaign in February.

In late November 2012 two.5 were delighted to receive an Artists’ International Development grant from the Arts Council joint with the British Council. The grant funds three trips between December 2012 and March 2013 for Samantha and Viccy to work for concentrated bursts of time in the same physical space, rather than through their usual mish-mash of digital communications software.

The second of these trips saw Viccy returning to New York  in March 2013 for  networking, storyslams, editing and film previews. Here’s a brief photo diary of the following two weeks:

The first of these trips started on Boxing Day 2013, when Viccy caught a 5am flight to New York armed with a suitcase of Dirty Laundry text print-outs, flip charts, and post-its. Here’s our photo diary of the following two weeks:

Respiration (short story)

She had the day off work because the fish died.  It ruined the feng-shui of the building, apparently.  They were told not to come back until the official cleanser had performed the appropriate rituals.  She had brought bread in for them, sometimes.  The rumour was that it had taken an entire bottle of bleach.  That … Continue reading Respiration (short story)

The Wedding Guest (flash fiction)

I don’t want any, thank you.  Can’t abide hot drinks; they turn my stomach.  Always been that way, ever since I was a child. Am I bride or groom? Both. Neither.  You may have seen me in church, up the front.  Yes, that was me. How kind of you to say so.  I’ve had it … Continue reading The Wedding Guest (flash fiction)
