We have a new piece up on The Peripatetic Studio: Laura Davidson talking about hunting for plug sockets and dystopian adventures at the Barbican centre in ‘Tethered to the Barbican‘. Coming up soon are contributions from Leanne Radojkovich, Gina Hepburn and Nathalie Limon.
The Bespoke(n) project will be exhibiting at the V & A on 28th February as part of the Hackney Wick Takeover. Keep your ears open for some audio poetry from yours truly if you can make it there.
In the coming months I’m delighted to announce that I have short fiction forthcoming in The View From Here and Tube-Flash. Any writers reading this, Tube-Flash is open to submissions until the end of February.
In a similar vein, Brittle Star (who published my short story ‘Things We Do Not Talk About’ in issue 31/32 last year) have announced their inaugural Poetry and Short Fiction Competition. Closing date is 12th March 2014, and there are prizes of £250 per genre (1st), £100 per genre (2nd) and £50 per genre (3rd). Judges include David Constantine (fiction), Mimi Khalvati (poetry), and Jacqueline Gabbitas (Poetry and Short Fiction).
As you may be aware, at the beginning of the month I launched a crowdfunding campaign with my long term collaborator, the Brooklyn-based photographer Samantha Silver. We’re raising final production costs for On The Same Page: an app template designed to display text/image collaborations simply, elegantly and digitally. Any donation, however big or small, will make a difference to us reaching our goal. Ten days in and we’re 60% of the way there- anything you can do to help us towards making that 100% would be gratefully appreciated.
To thank contributors we’ve designed some exclusive perks, ranging from editorial feedback on a short-story/5,000 word novel extract, professionally recorded audio stories from our Dirty Laundry series, postcard sets, portrait photoshoots in NYC, and licensed copies of our software files.
