Calling women writers who’d like some free mentoring!

I’m very proud and excited to be a part of a wonderful new initiative- the WoMentoring Project. The idea was born out of a Twitter conversation and is entirely managed and run by volunteers. Any women writers interested in being mentored can apply for free mentoring, selecting from a long list of excellent and committed writers, editors and literary agents.

While discussing the current lack of peer mentoring and the prohibitive expense for many of professional mentoring we asked our followers – largely writers, editors and agents – who would be willing to donate a few hours of their time to another woman just starting out. The response was overwhelming – within two hours we had over sixty mentors. (founder, Kerry Hudson)

I’m offering up to three sessions of mentoring (in person or by email). My background means I’d be best suited to offer guidance to fiction writers, but anyone interested in running literary projects or thinking of doing a creative writing PhD might like to put me on their shortlist too.

Please pass on details of the project far and wide.
