Viccy was born in the USA, raised in the South East of England and currently lives in Edinburgh, Scotland. As part of her creative practice, she consults on research projects ranging from the impact of creative activities on wellbeing in later life to better understanding professionalism in the Creative Arts.
One of the UK’s literature representatives at World Event Young Artist in 2012, Viccy won the inaugural STV Digital Spark award in 2014, was shortlisted for the New Media Writing Prize in 2015 and won the People’s Choice category. Her writing has been exhibited at the V&A, hung on trees, burnt to fuel a sauna, and translated into Chinese.
She has an MA Hons in English Literature from the University of St Andrews and an MLitt and PhD in Creative Writing from Newcastle University. Her creative work has been awarded grants from Arts Council England, the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the British Council and the Leverhulme Trust.
