Bespoke(n)

Creative writing and tailoring project working with Nathalie Limon, a tailor in the East End of London, and women writers from across the UK.

As part of an exhibition in the fashion hall at the V&A, my poems (partially constructed from interviews with Nathalie) were hand printed onto pattern paper and hung next to one of her coats, which was made using Meldola’s Blue (a blue oxazine dye originally created in Hackney Wick by Prof Raphael Meldola back in the early 1900s).

The poems and a piece of short fiction were also published in a limited-run artists book of pattern pieces, alongside work by the other writers.
